A Message from the Founders
The software behind GroupTracks was designed by groups to bring their functions and their community online in an affordable and easy to use way. As Undergraduates at Yale University, and active members of various community groups and previous web entrepreneurs, we were asked to find or build a method for our groups to enter the web and continue the group’s functions through the Internet.
We were tasked with producing online resources like e-mail lists to keep in touch with group members and facilitate discussions, calendar systems to let all members know of events and allow them to RSVP, and networking components to allow group members to connect. However, while some solutions were available for the basic web functions of a group, all of these solutions were either prohibitively expensive, costing anywhere from $2,500 a year up $7,000 a year, or did not provide the necessary functionality at all. As web entrepreneurs we knew that a much better solution could be created and brought to groups at a much lower cost.
Over the next 18 months we worked with the groups we were involved with in order to make simple, intuitive and affordable tools to bring our groups online. What was created formed the foundation of GroupTracks. We look forward to helping you see all that GroupTracks has to offer.
